In order to avoid seeming unamerican, or anything, I will observe that even though I am suggesting that all men were not created the same, I do not mean to suggest that they were were not created equal. (...Hm, that's a fairly convoluted sentence.) The thing that is particularly empowering about thinking of things this way is that as we are not required to be able to repeat other people's successes, neither are we required to repeat their failures. Every human being is good and bad in their own right.
