11/27/02 This episode seems kind of muddled. What I was trying to get at is that there is a difference between violence and representations of violence. "Cici n'est pas violence." The "real" hand in the last two panels is holding a kind of eraser that can remove ink from mylar film. All in all, I have a pretty good relationship with my cartoon characters — I don't erase them very often and they don't shoot me in the head.
