Rhetoric is a morass from which there is no escape — there is a kind of Heisenbergian quality to it that insinuates the observer into the equation. For instance, if you were to enter a rhetorical discussion of a murder, you'd probably find that there is a bloody knife in your hand when the talking is over.
In the second panel, "zip" isn't quite the sound effect I was looking for. I wish that I could write the sound effect that Muppets make when they rush onto the screen. That's got to be one of the coolest sound effects ever recorded.
