04/09/03 One summer while we were living in Hawaii, my brother had a job with our stepdad's landscaping company doing maintenance. "Maintenance" in this case meant walking around all day with a tank of herbicide on his back, spraying down weeds. He used to keep himself amused by ad-libbing dialogue from Aliens ...which is where Bill's lines in the third panel come from. It seems like a good idea to point out that this episode has nothing to do with Bob The Angry Flower, my neighbor on the Flak Magazine Sunday Comics Page. I like Bob The Angry Flower and would never hose him down with herbicide.
